Message from the VALue Director

I am a member of the faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Koc University. I received my Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from University of Illinois at Chicago in 1997. Before joining Koc University, I worked as a senior member of technical staff in Guidance and Control Analysis Group at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA, and Caltech between the years of 1997-2002.

Vibration and Acoustics Laboratory (VAL) was founded in 2002 under my supervision. VAL engages in cutting edge research projects with the goal of directly contributing to the present and future exploration and development of transport systems specifically automotive, marine and aerospace applications. The laboratory encompasses expertise in structural dynamics, active vibration control, design and optimization, energy harvesting and vibro-acoustic analysis while considering today’s technological and societal drivers. We work on research projects for government, private and industrial sponsors. Our objective is to explore innovative concepts for the integration of future transport systems and to train a generation of researchers and engineers experts in this field.

Please feel free to browse this site to find out more about the wide range of exciting projects we are currently undertaking, the state of the art equipment we offer, our people and opportunities for joining us within VAL.
